This is a sewing pattern I've wanted to tackle for a long time. I've already sewn a few jackets and dresses with continuous dividing seams, but I still had to code this into my program.
I love the so-called Princessline patterns. Instead of sometimes hard darts, soft transitions are sewn and everything is somehow flowing and harmonious.
I call this my blanket dress. It is made from a thicker, dark-gray wool and so long an cuddly like a blanket!
Yes, I am one of these, I am always cold. :D
I might have chosen a higher fitting class, so that there is more ease. The bodice is a bit tight when I layer a sweater underneath. But you can change that if you want to sew one of these, too. ;)
I have lined the bodice, but the pattern includes facings for neck and armholes, too.
The two airy linen dresses with short puffed sleeves have already been packed away for the winter and will be out in the fresh air again next year. But I also already have fabrics for warm winter dresses here. The new pattern kit will come in handy there.
Last year I fell in love with historical sewing videos on YouTube. The channels of Bernadette Banner and Morgan Donner are particularly noteworthy. Even though I will probably never have such endless patience when sewing by hand, I would like to try something like this. It's definitely miles beyond my comfort zone, but I want to see how far I can get. What are the differences to modern styles? Maybe I can also learn something.
*lach*
Mein neues Schnittmuster: Das Sweat/Jersey Kleid "Aster".
