Leggins "Pansy"

All seams are sewn with an elastic stitch, e.g. with an overlock or a zigzag stitch with a household sewing machine.

Fold the two legs lengthwise, with the right side of the fabric on the inside. Sew along the inside edge. You get a left leg and a right leg.

Turn one pant leg right side out and slide it into the other pant leg.

The right sides of the fabric are now together again. Sew the two legs together at the crotch edge.

Pull the pant leg back out and turn the leggings right side out.

Fold the waistband together, the right side of the fabric is on the inside. Sew the ribbon together along the short edge. Leave an opening of about 2.5 cm open, here the rubber band will be inserted later.

Then fold the waistband so that the wrong side of the fabric is on the inside.

Then pin the waistband onto the leggings from the outside and sew them together. The waistband is stretched slightly.

Then you need a 2.5 cm wide rubber band. Wrap it around your waist to find a comfortable length. The rubber should stretch a bit.

Use a safety pin to pull the elastic into the waist band. Be careful not to slip the end through with it. Sew the two elastic ends together and close the opening in the waistband with a few hand stitches.

Finally, the two legs are folded 2 cm inwards and sewn in place. You can use the sewing machine foot to sew inside the trouser leg, then you don't have to stretch the trouser leg.
